SteelSeries has dropped possibly the sexiest one-two keyboard and mouse combination this month – the limited-edition Ghost collection – featuring the Apex 7 TenKeyLess (TKL) keyboard and Aerox 3 Wireless mouse.
The Apex 7 TKL Ghost is essentially the white and aluminium (alloy, if you want to be pedantic about it) version of SteelSeries’ Apex 7 TKL keyboard – a slim, low profile mechanical keyboard that comes in a choice of red, brown or blue key switches. With the Ghost edition, you can have any switch you want so long as it is red. But! They make up for this Hobson’s choice with another change that’s actually cool: double shot PBT (basically the legends won’t wear off) pudding keycaps (top half is opaque, bottom half is translucent) that turn your keyboard into a veritable RGB light show. People who hate RGBs will beg to differ, and in which case I say to them – why did you click on the thumbnail in the first place?
What stays the same is the integrated OLED Smart Display, which err, displays information on settings as well as notifications from supported applications like Discord or Spotify.
Likewise, the Aerox 3 Wireless Ghost Edition mouse is a recolour of the Aerox 3 Wireless. It features a lightweight 68g design, which is pretty good for its rated battery life of 200 hours. Couple that with the dual wireless connectivity option of Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless and you have a very versatile mouse that you can use across multiple devices.
The TrueMove Air sensor has a maximum CPI of 18,000, 400 IPS (SteelSeries QcK surfaces), 40G acceleration and 1000Hz polling rate, which is pretty much within the range of most high-end gaming mice these days. Other amenities fast charging to minimise downtime and water-resistance as insurance against accidental spills.
