At long last. The long-awaited Pixel phones, which were first announced in October, are here now in Singapore. Pretty rough timing when we’ve just seen the Huawei P50s and The Samsung Galaxy S series go on sale.
That said, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are now available on the Singapore Google Store, and if you’ve always preferred your Android OS clean and uncluttered, the Pixel phones are the way to go.
To recap the new generation of Pixel phones feature Google’s first processor – Tensor – which was designed for machine learning and AI. This in turn helps some of the new camera features like Magic Erase to remove unwanted objects and improved portraiture photography to better represent actual skin tones. The Pro version gets a better camera system and has a 48MP telephoto camera with 4x zoom.
One caveat: they’ll only be launching the 128GB versions of both phones in Singapore. This can be a bit of a bummer for those who need the space for media files and apps. But the phone has been well-reviewed, so that’s something to think about.
The Pixel 6 is priced at $999 and will be available in Stormy Black and Sorta Seafoam while the Pixel 6 Pro is priced at $1,299 and will be available in Stormy Black and Cloudy White.
Cases for the Pixel 6 and cases for the Pixel 6 Pro are priced at $49 while the 30W USB-C charger – not included with the phone – is priced at $45. The second-generation wireless charging stand is also available for $119 .
