As we mentioned before, Resident Evil Village takes heavy inspiration from the classic, Resident Evil 4. Creepy village with nasty average joes and karens and ominous castle looming in the background – check.
So if that’s your jam then good news, the game will be dropping on May 7th, 2021 with PC, Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S being supported. PS4 and Xbox One users will be able to upgrade to current-gen console version if they upgrade their consoles as well.
Swag hunters will be happy to note that there will be a litany of gaming paraphernalia for those who love all things RE – Kotaku has picked up on some Japan-exclusive merch for the truly hardcore fans, with the highlight being a replica of the coat Chris Redfield wears in the upcoming gaming. All yours for only a modest sum of ¥159,731 ($2,038). Yikes. The miniatures are a little pricey as well at ¥12,100 ($154) but they don’t look half bad though.
Capcom has dropped a third trailer (complete with fan-service femme fatale) as well as a playable demo called The Maiden. It’s exclusive to the Playstation 5, so if you are still waiting on getting the console, you’d have to make do with the trailer or fan playthroughs for the time being.
