More SteelSeries gear has hit the shelves: a new mouse in the form of the Rival 5 gaming mouse and a new dual wireless gaming headset in the form of the Arctis 9 Wireless.

Rival 5

Designed to be a versatile mouse that works for any genre, be it League of Legends or Call of Duty, this nine-button mouse (all programmable) is ergonomically designed to be friendly to most hand sizes and grip styles while providing easy access to all buttons. The five-button side panel also includes a toggle-style switch enabling quick in-game actions.

The mouse is pretty lightweight at only 85g, and also features a Super Mesh Cable to minimise drag and facilitate quick swipes and rapid movements.

At its core is a SteelSeries-designed TrueMove Air Sensor that offers true 1-to-1 tracking and competent specs (18,000 CPI, 400 IPS, 40G acceleration). It also features tilt tracking to eliminate unwanted tracking during angled drops, tilt slams, and quick flicks. The Rival 5 is also equipped with the company’s very own next-gen Golden Micro IP54 Switches. Rated for 80M clicks, they are also dust and water-resistant.

Inspired by the chameleon’s colour-changing qualities, the PrismSync Lighting provides 10 zones of lighting, boasting 16.8 million colours. Aside from matching your current setup in terms of colour, it can also be customised to react to in-game cues.

Arctis 9 Wireless

Steelseries calls this a dual wireless – this means that the Arctis 9 will connect to your PC via an ultra-low latency 2.4GHz lossless wireless connection for in-game audio and at the same time maintain a Bluetooth connection so that you can connect to your mobile devices for calls, music and VoIP chats.

Construction-wise, it uses a combination of steel-reinforced, ski goggle suspension headband, paired with Airweave fabric ear cushions for durability, comfort and fit.

And like the rest of the Arctis line, the Arctis 9 uses the same ClearCast microphone, which utilises a bidirectional design to improve noise cancellation and keep your voice sounding clear and natural.

The Artis 9 is voiced with the signature Arctis soundscape, which emphasises both subtle and critical in-game sounds. It also supports DTS Headphone:X v2.0, for incredibly accurate surround sound positional cues on PC. The headset also has on-ear controls for ChatMix, a feature that lets you adjust the mix of your game and chat audio directly through the headset.

The RIVAL 5 and Arctis 9 are priced at $119 and $349 respectively and are available at Steelseries’ official store on Shopee and Lazada and selected authorised dealers.
