What the FCK: Watch out PS5 and Xbox X, the KFConsole is an actual thing

Wendy’s may be the place for sick burns, but KFC has the whole barmy thing down pat. And its latest – bringing a joke tweet from months before to life.

KFC boldly proclaims its victory in the console wars with its latest creation – the KFConsole – a gaming console that keeps your chicken warm. Hold my beer, lemme go grab some chicken.

All snickering aside, the physical console is a collaboration with Cooler Master and modder Timpelay where they put together a custom Cooler Master NC100 chassis to house an Intel Nuc 9 Extreme Compute Element board with a hot-swappable GPU slot. Storage comes in the form of one NVMe module and there’s room for two SSDs.

The resulting stove that the computing ensemble generates is then funnelled upwards into a tray where you can house your chicken. I’m not so sure that I’d like my chicken infused with the essence of silicon but kudos for being ridiculous and doing one so we don’t have to imagine it any more.

It seems like quite a lot of money for KFC to spend on trolling, but there seems to be no downside to its hilarious online persona. For now, at least. It must be a heck of a job working on their social media accounts because it just feels like surfing Reddit and 9Gag all day and finding utterly random things to make people go huh what? And I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. From sempai Colonel Sanders or Fall Guys Sanders, KFC just wants to make you go oh sh** that’s hilarious. And then you buy their chicken later at lunch. I know I am.
