If you still prefer cooking over a flame, there’s a new option that promises to make gas easier to live with.
Life by City Energy’s first self-branded gas hobs and cooker hoods feature nano-coated tempered glass surfaces that resist grease, scratches and stains — so you spend less time scrubbing. For context, Life by City Energy is the lifestyle arm of Singapore’s sole piped town gas provider.
It’s also building itself as a one-stop shop for home and smart-living solutions ranging from gas water heaters to EV charging, so if you go with gas for your home, you can simply get it all sorted — appliances, installation and support — with them.
The new range spans two- and three-burner hobs in both tempered glass and stainless steel finishes, alongside 90cm slim hoods. They all have a flame-failure device built in, which automatically shuts off the gas if the flame goes out, plus a simple battery-powered ignition that works without wiring. The hobs include double-ring wok burners for high-heat searing and finer simmer control, alongside cast-iron pan supports built for heavy cookware.
The matching cooker hoods use low-noise fans with three-speed touch controls embedded in a scratch-resistant glass panel, paired with LED lighting. They also come with washable aluminium and charcoal filters, making it easier to maintain fresh air in open-plan kitchens.
From now till 31 December 2025, Life by City Energy will be offering a 20% launch discount until 31 December 2025 (in-store at Plaza Singapura or online at cityenergylife.com.sg), which means that prices start from SGD 424 for hobs (U.P. SGD 530) and SGD 320 (U.P. SGD 400) for hoods.
