Canon has just announced two new cost-efficient multifunction printers: the PIXMA E4570 and TR4670S.
What they offer is what the typical user looks for in a printer: a suite of productivity features, high print yields, and low-cost printing.
When it comes down to numbers, the PIXMA E4570 can print up to 400 pages for black and white text documents (PG-47 black cartridge) and up to 180 pages for colour pages (CL-57S colour cartridge; 300 pages with CL-57). For the PIXMA TR4670S , it’s 100 pages for both text (PG-745S black cartridge) and colour (CL-746S colour cartridge). For TR4670S, you have the option for higher capacity cartridges: PG-745 / CL-746 gets you 180 pages each while PG-745XL / CL-746XL gets you 300 pages each.
Here’s a list of supported features:
- print, scan, copy and fax
- 20-sheet compact Automatic Document Feeder
- automatic two-sided printing
- double-sided scan onto a single page
- alert if you forget to remove document after scanning
- Apple Airprint, Mopria for Android, mobile printing and Canon Print Service supported
Interestingly, Both the PIXMA E4570 and TR4670S support Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice control. Canon says you can print a wide variety of documents this way, ranging from colouring pages and origami to message cards and shopping lists.
Another hallmark for a PIXMA printer is its bundle of basic, but useful, applications. The software is free to use, and you can create simple documents, posters, greeting cards, etc., without design experience. What’s new is the Easy-Layout Editor (Windows), which lets you tweak the layout for documents, web pages, and many other file types. Collation Print lets you consolidate content from multiple file formats into a single document for printing, while PosterArtist Lite has over 1,300 pre-loaded templates, photos, and clip art to help you create decent posters and other content without prior experience.
The PIXMA E4570 ($199) and PIXMA TR4670S ($169) are now available at Canon and authorised resellers.
