Casio has released the third set of high-performance chronographs under the EDIFICE line, designed in collaboration with Formula One team AlphaTauri (ex-Scuderia Toro Rosso).
The EQB-1200AT, EFS-S580AT, and EFR-571AT are decked out in the team’s distinctive navy blue and the recognisable high visibility fluorescent yellow of the pit crew. They all feature 6K carbon fibre dials (filaments with 6,000 fibres). The dials are also a signature of the second collaboration and a nod to the use of the vaunted material in high-performance racing. The watches also feature a host of tech that defeat the question, “isn’t your phone more accurate at keeping time?”
The EQB-1200AT-1ADR (CORDURA/Leather, $799) is based on the regular EQB-1200, this slim chronograph features a Casio Tough Solar charging system for limitless power and Mobile Link to automatically adjust to the correct time when paired to a smartphone with the dedicated app. It also has some 300 cities saved so you can switch timezones with ease. Switch between two bands – durable Cordura with a retro-reflective strip for safety, and a genuine leather band for everyday use.
The EFS-S580AT-1ADR (Stainless steel, $529) features a blue ion plating and, like the EQB-1200AT, a sapphire crystal glass. Also features a solar power system. The EFR-571AT-1ADR (Stainless steel, $379) is the most affordable chronograph of the bunch and is water-resistant down to 100 meters.
All three watches will be available at Edifice retailers while the EFS-S580AT-1ADR and EFR-571AT-1ADR will be available at all G-SHOCK stores as well.
