The first consumer true wireless earphones in 2015, Earin was pretty groundbreaking. The third generation A-3 is now available through Shopee, and Earin calls it the smallest and lightest earbuds on the market.
The A-3 uses a stemless, open design, meaning that the seal isn’t going to be perfect, but it’s more likely to be comfortable to wear. It also looks like Earin has eschewed balanced armature drivers from its previous iterations in favour of 14.3mm dynamic drivers, which on paper is able to deliver a fuller sound. Thankfully, it supports AptX, so you can take advantage of those drivers if your player or phone supports the codec.
In true Scandinavian fashion, the A-3 has a bit of left-field thinking, as the A-3 has no left or right designation and it has a patented automatic placement recognition technology that assigns itself the appropriate audio channels once you put them on.
The A-3 relies on a combination of passive noise isolation and wind noise reduction algorithms to combat external noise, while voice accelerometers and algorithm takes care of the voice call quality.
Earin earbuds have never been known for their battery life, given how light and small they were, and the A-3’s modest 5-hour battery life reflects that. The handsome aluminium case adds another 25 hours, which is par for the course. Amenities include a touch interface and IP-52 certification (splash and dust resistant).
As part of a collaboration between Leader Radio Technologies and Shopee, the Earin A-3 will be launched exclusively on Shopee at a special launch price of $299 (black or silver).
