Samsung has just announced the local availability for its latest range of home appliances, which includes the latest 4-Door Flex Refrigerator Series and the Jet Bot+ with Clean Station.
Samsung 4-Door Flex Refrigerator Series
The Samsung 4-Door Flex Refrigerator Series features four models in both Stainless Steel and Classic Matte Black styling.
The Flex series was designed to play nice with most kitchen designs thanks to a combination of classic looks and a seamless built-in layout. The water dispenser is hidden; the door handles are recessed and coated with antimicrobial coating while the metallic finish is fingerprint-resistant.
Apps
The Family Hub option offers the ability to display curated digital artworks or other screen views on its 21.5″ display to match the decor. Aside from entertainment features or note sharing, it can be used as a command centre for your Samsung smart devices via the SmartThings app. The display can also be used for food-related applications like Meal Planner, which makes recommendations on family meals while the Smart Recipes app provides recipes and instructions.
In addition, apps like View Inside lets you see what’s in your fridge via your smartphone, and the fridge can also generate a shopping list for missing ingredients that can be synced to supported smartphones.
Cooling
Beverage Center, located in the upper-left door, consists of an In-Door Water Dispenser and an AutoFill Water Pitcher. The dispenser is kept inside to reduce contamination and features a detachable stainless steel nozzle for easy cleaning. The BPA-free 1.4L AutoFill Water Pitcher also comes with an infuser so you can infuse your choice of fruits and herbs. The Dual Auto Ice Maker makes two types of ice (regular and bite-sized), and it makes up to 2.8kg of ice a day while storing up to 3.1kg’s worth.
It also features a triple cooling system with triple dedicated coolers to control each of the three compartments, which makes it easier for the fridge to maintain optimal storage conditions and prevent odours from mixing. The system also minimises temperature fluctuation to within 0.5 degrees Celsius even if the door is opened frequently.
Storage
FlexZone lets you customise each compartment according to your needs. You can easily switch between five preset temperature modes – Freeze, Soft Freeze, Meat/Fish, Fruits/Veggies, and Beverage – for each compartment, and the 4-Door Flex has an additional Flex Crisper drawer with adjustable temperature for maintaining the freshness of meat and fish and a Crisper+ drawer for maintaining the moisture of fruits and vegetables.
Jet Bot+ with Clean Station
The Clean Station is the natural upgrade for the Jet Bot+ – after the vacuum does the cleaning, the Clean Station empties all dirt into a 2.5L dust bag. A built-in Self-Cleaning Grinder in the Jet Bot+ breaks down hairs and pet fur to prevent tangles around the brush, so you don’t have to worry about jammed brushes. If you’re worried about dust leaking out, the device is fitted with a Multi-layered Filtration System that traps 99.999% of fine dust.
Other upgrades include a high-precision LiDAR Sensor to optimise its cleaning path. It repeatedly scans the room to gather distance information (360 degrees over an area of six metres at a rate of ten rotations per second) for improved and more precise mapping, even in lowly-lit spaces. Samsung also touts that it can recognise individual rooms and automatically divide them into separate areas for cleaning.
The Jet Bot+ gets more functionality through the SmartThings app, and these include Select and Go, which recognises rooms and layouts, so you can choose to schedule to clean selected rooms or parts of it as you wish. You can even mark No-go Zones without having to physically mark your house. Although you probably wouldn’t need it, the app can provide Live Cleaning Reports to check on real-time progress and issue ad-hoc commands from wherever you are.
Local Pricing and Availability
The new Samsung 4-Door Flex Refrigerator Series and Samsung Jet Bot+ are available on the Samsung Online Store and major consumer electronics and IT stores from May 2021 and June 2021 respectively. Prices for the 4-Door Flex Series start from $3,099 while the Jet Bot+ retails for $1,099.
