Nanoleaf, which made its name with its customisable lighting system, has now introduced a new line called… Nanoleaf Lines.

The formula is pretty much the same: backlit, smart colour-changing LEDs, but now in a modular line form. Nanoleaf describes them as ultra-lightweight, which makes them easy to mount. Also, these light bars connect at 60-degree angle increments, making it easy to create sleek linear layouts and geometric shapes anywhere on your walls. Nanoleaf says that Line is lightweight enough that you can even secure the mounting plates with adhesive, making it viable to create patterns on ceilings as well.

Because each bar can display two different colours at once, it’s easier to do transitions from one colour to another and create dynamic animations.

If you are spoilt for choice and have no idea how to start, Nanoleaf Line also features 19 preset lighting scenes, including seven Rhythm Scenes that will reactive intuitively to music. You can also create your own presets using the Scene Creator feature. It lets you program motions like ‘Highlight’, which uses the first colour in your custom palette as the central theme and periodically fades into the other colours as well. And being RGB, you technically have over 16 million colour options, so the possibilities are virtually endless.

Other fun animations include Nanoleaf’s signature Rhythm Music Visualizer. There are 22 Rhythm Motions, designed to cater to different genres of music. The application will sync with tunes in real-time to create dynamic colour animations where the colours will pulse and move along in time to the beat and melodies.

Screen Mirror is gaming-centric and syncs the lights to your screens. The Match Mode mirrors the on-screen lighting and colours to raise the level of immersion, while Palette Mode goes for a more subtle transition.

Nanoleaf says that the Line also acts as a Thread Border Router for the Nanoleaf Essential line of Bulbs and Lightstrips. Once you pair your Lines with the Nanoleaf app, you will automatically be connected to all your Essential devices too. Line is compatible with Apple Home Kit, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT integrations.

Smarter Kits (9 Lines) retail at $339 and Expansion Packs (3 Lines) cost $109, and you can get them online from Lazada and Shopee or physical stores: Brex International @ Oxley Bizhub, Synced by District @ Plaza Singapura, HipVan Experience Store @ Suntec, BHG @ Bugis Junction (from 1 December 2021), Takashimaya Level 3 & Omnidesk Experience Studio.
