Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 10 5G and Mi 11 Lite 5G will arrive end May

More budget options can't be a bad thing.

Xiaomi will be dropping two new affordable phones in the form of the Redmi Note 10 5G and Mi 11 Lite 5G. The Redmi Note 10 5G is priced at $329 while the Mi 11 Lite 5G is priced at $549.

The Note 10 is notable for its use of the new MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, which is built using a 7nm process. It’s unusual because the 7nm process is usually reserved for chips designed for flagship devices. Of course, it just means that the Note 10 5G is just more power-efficient, and not necessarily more powerful than its rivals.

It does have some nifty tricks, such as a 6.5″ AdaptiveSync display that supports up to a 90Hz refresh rate. It will dynamically switch to 30Hz for video and 60Hz for scrolling pages and 90Hz for gaming.

For a relatively affordable phone, the camera system isn’t bad either. It sports a 48MP main camera is accompanied by a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor (for portraits). A large 5,000mAh battery gives it plenty of juice to work with, 18W fast charging isn’t much these days, it’s better than nothing either.

The Mi 11 Lite 5G sports an ultra-slim light design measuring just 6.81mm in thickness and weighs 159g. It’s built around a useful triple rear camera array featuring a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle, and a 5MP telemacro. And the 20MP front camera isn’t bad either. Xiaomi added some software perks too, like one-click AI Cinema to add movie-style filters and effects without much fuss.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G, the phone also features a DCI-P3 and HDR10+ compatible display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate – this works great for multimedia content and gaming.
