OPPO has launched the Reno16 and Reno16 F in Singapore at SGD 899 and SGD 669, respectively.
The Pop White finish gives the phone a decorative flourish, using microlenses to create a floating pattern beneath the rear cover. Both come with a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera and a 50MP telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, autofocus and two-axis optical stabilisation.
Of the two, the Reno16 F received a more substantial upgrade. Its predecessor used a 2MP macro camera in place of a telephoto, so a proper stabilised 3.5x camera makes the phone competitive at this price point. It’s equipped with a Dimensity 7300-Energy processor, 8GB of memory, and 256GB of storage. It has a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, a 6,500mAh battery and 45W charging.
The standard Reno16 steps it up to a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and 12GB of memory. It sports a smaller 6.32-inch display but has a larger 6,700mAh battery, as well as faster 80W charging.
Both phones also get Pop Cam filters, AI collage tools, ColorOS 16 and IP68, IP69 and IP69K water- and dust-resistance ratings.
On top of that, the Reno16 (and the FindX9 series) currently support the new OPPO Bubble, a 27.5g magnetic AMOLED screen that displays the rear-camera feed and controls the camera from up to 10 metres away.
Both phones are available in Pop White and Twilight Violet through OPPO, Singapore telcos and authorised retailers. Until 31 August, Reno16 buyers can purchase the Bubble for SGD 103.20 instead of SGD 129, while stocks last.
