The original Galaxy Watch Ultra was built to survive rough conditions, but Samsung stopped short of recommending it for diving. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 changes all that.
Samsung’s new 47mm watch adds EN13319 certification (for durability and depth-sensor accuracy), plus automatic depth, dive-time, and water-temperature tracking. It also teases advanced diving functions in due course through an app developed with Mares.
On top of that, the new Ultra2 also gets a bigger 800mAh battery in a body that is 12% thinner.

A larger battery without a thicker watch
The Ultra2 gets a 35% increase in battery capacity — from 590mAh to 800mAh — which is quite an upgrade for smartwatches. Samsung claims up to 60 hours with the always-on display enabled.
While you can’t see battery changes, you can see the difference in the new dimensions. The case is now 10.7mm thick, down from 12.1mm, despite the larger battery. However, it is not lighter; the watch body now weighs 61.5g, one gram more than its predecessor, but it looks like a worthy trade-off. Samsung is instead leaning on softer, lighter bands to improve comfort.
The display also grows slightly to 1.52 inches and 498 × 498 pixels, and its brightness now peaks at 5,000 nits, up from 3,000 on the original Ultra.
The Ultra2 also adopts Qualcomm’s five-core, 3nm Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and doubles storage to 64GB. Memory remains at 2GB, while dual-frequency GPS, LTE, Wi-Fi and NFC are included.
The Ultra name now includes diving
The first Galaxy Watch Ultra had 10ATM water resistance, but Samsung said it was unsuitable for diving and high-pressure water activities. The Ultra2 now adds EN13319 certification and IP69K protection and can automatically record real-time depth, dive time and water temperature after the feature is enabled.
A fuller diving package will arrive later in 2026 through the Ultra2 Diving app. Samsung says the Mares-developed functions will include ascent and descent speed tracking and safe dive limits and will remain exclusive to the Ultra2 among Wear OS watches for two years.
Trail running gets more specific too
A new Trail Run mode tracks elevation, climbing progress and the effect of terrain to help runners pace themselves. Nutrition Alert builds on Samsung’s Sweat Loss feature by estimating fluid loss relative to body weight and advising when and how much to drink during supported activities.
The Ultra2 also shares the Watch9’s new Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index and hearing tools. These features depend on days or weeks of accumulated data, which makes the case for a larger battery to support extended wear more compelling.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2 price and availability in Singapore
While the new Watch 9 also get Samsung’s latest health features, the Ultra2 is better built to support them. Vitals, Heart Health Score and Daily Cardio Load all benefit from sustained wear; the Watch9 is rated for 30 hours, but the Ultra2’s claimed 60-hour AOD battery and thinner body make always-on health monitoring more effective.
The Ultra2 does not reinvent Samsung’s smartwatch formula. But it does remove some of the resistance of wearing a large outdoor watch, and it gives the Ultra name a specialist capability it conspicuously lacked the first time.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 costs SGD 988 in Singapore as a 47mm LTE model in Titanium Silver or Titanium Grey. Pre-orders open on 22 July 2026 at 9 pm through Samsung and participating retailers, while telco pre-orders begin on 4 August. General sales start on 14 August 2026.
Customers who pre-order can receive 10% off the Watch Ultra2 when it is bought with any Galaxy smartphone or tablet in the same transaction, while stocks last.
