Samsung offers many ways to buy its devices, but this can make it overwhelming to comb through at times.
Besides the normal pre-order, there is a 28-day trial, credit-card instalments, buy-now-pay-later services, telco sales, a Cinch subscription and an upgrade programme with a guaranteed future trade-in. The simplest way through is to start with how sure you are that you want the phone.

Easy Mode Club is an invitation-only programme open to Singapore residents aged 18 or above who currently use a non-Galaxy smartphone. You apply, and Samsung selects the participants, who will receive a Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, or Flip8, along with a Galaxy Watch9 or Watch Ultra2, to use as their everyday devices.
Aside from being able to try them out, the programme prices are quite attractive.

The trial lasts 28 days from collection. At the end of the trial, participants choose whether to keep both devices, return both, or keep one and return the other. They may also withdraw earlier by returning the devices under the programme’s return process.
However, there are commitments. Participants must complete a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payment authorisation at programme prices. This does not mean you will be charged if you do not want to buy, but the devices must be returned in acceptable condition. They also have to publish three testimonials on their designated Reddit thread and one review of the foldable on Samsung.com.
Applications run from 22 July to 8 August 2026.

The phones will be sold through Samsung’s Online Store, Shop app and Experience Stores; Samsung’s official stores on Lazada, Shopee, TikTok, KrisShop and iShopChangi; major electronics retailers; local telcos; and other selected channels.

In addition, pre-orders make it more affordable to upgrade storage capacity; this alone is a big incentive to buy early.
Spread the cost through BNPL or Instalments
Samsung offers up to 36 months of 0% instalments for purchases above SGD 500 using eligible UOB, OCBC, Trust Bank or DBS credit cards through its Online Store and Shop app. Selected credit cards can also be used for 0% instalments at Samsung Experience Stores.
PayLater by Grab, SPayLater and Atome are also available for purchases through Samsung’s Online Store, Shop app and Experience Stores.
Spread the cost through Singtel, StarHub or M1 contracts
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 are available through Singtel, M1 and StarHub.
Singtel combines phone-plan discounts with selected promo-code, card and trade-in savings; M1 offers a 24-month subsidised contract or Bespoke Flexi instalments over 12 to 36 months; and StarHub pairs its 5G Unlimited+ plans with DeviceDollars and 12-, 24- or 36-month device payments.
The offers are not directly comparable, so check the required plan, total cost and eligibility conditions first. We have not included a detailed comparison because each telco packages value differently, making a meaningful like-for-like comparison difficult to present clearly at a glance.
Prefer a subscription? Cinch offers something different
Cinch is a device rental rather than a normal instalment purchase: you pay to use the devices, but they remain Cinch’s unless you exercise a separate purchase option.
Samsung quotes the Galaxy Z Fold8 256GB at SGD 112 a month on a 12-month plan, or SGD 149 a month for 18 months when bundled with the Galaxy Watch Ultra2. Cinch’s live store also lists the Fold8 from SGD 100 a month on an 18-month term.
When the term ends, you can return the devices, start a new subscription, continue renting at the same monthly rate or buy them at the quoted buyout price. If you do nothing, the subscription automatically rolls over at the same rate.
At SGD 112 a month, a 12-month Cinch subscription costs SGD 1,344, after which you still do not own the phone. Buying the Fold8 256GB at its SGD 2,498 RRP would cost less over the same period only if you could resell it for more than SGD 1,154.
Current dealer buyback and used prices for the year-old Fold7 sit on either side of that figure, so Cinch’s pricing is roughly in the ballpark. What the listings don’t say: what you will actually get for it, which depends factors like phone condition, and whether the buyer drives a hard bargain. Remember that bit about the hassle? This is it.
Cinch may therefore suit regular upgraders who value a lower upfront outlay, reduced liability for certain damage and freedom from the resale process. It’s not guaranteed to be cheaper than buying and later selling the phone; you pay for convenience and a little more certainty, while giving up the phone’s residual value.
It can be a sensible trade-off — but the devil is very much in the details.
Planning another upgrade? Add New Galaxy Club
New Galaxy Club is an optional add-on to an eligible phone purchase, not a separate way to obtain the device.
For SGD 339, buyers receive two years of Samsung Care+ Screen Care coverage and up to 50% of the device’s original recommended retail price as its trade-in value, capped at SGD 1,849. The trade-in applies when upgrading to an eligible next-generation Galaxy foldable during its pre-order period, subject to applicable device condition requirements.
The offer period runs from 22 July 2026 at 9 pm to 13 August 2026 at 11.59 pm, and registration must be completed in the same transaction as the phone purchase.
Alternatively, you can opt for a two-year Samsung Care+ or Samsung Care+ Premium plan instead, which also enters you into New Galaxy Club along with the same benefits, so long as you buy the phone and care package in the same transaction during the offer period.

The Easy Mode Club has the best offers, but it’s not guaranteed you will be selected; plus, you are required to publish testimonials. Buying normally during the pre-order period is the next best thing, and the remaining choices are often about choosing the compromises you are willing to put up with.
