Sony updates its BRAVIA XR lineup for 2023

Sony has introduced four new models: A95L QD-OLED, A80L OLED, X95L Mini LED, and X90L Full Array LED as part of its BRAVIA XR lineup for 2023 along with updates for its Cognitive Processor XR. 

Sony’s processing engine has been improved for better backlight control for increased local dimming zones, increased brightness and decreased blooming. Select models will have XR Clear Image, which reduces noise and motion blur.

Each model offers Acoustic Center Sync, which synchronizes the TV’s audio system with the centre channel of a compatible Sony soundbar, like the new HT-S2000, for a more immersive audio experience. On top of that, the A95L and A80L models feature Acoustic Surface Audio+, which produces sound from the entire screen. The new X95L features Acoustic Multi-Audio+, which uses frame tweeters for the first time. 

The new TVs are designed to be paired with Sony’s audio solutions, such as the HT-A9 Home Theatre System or the HT-A7000, HT-A5000, and HT-A3000 soundbars, to take advantage of the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology for an immersive cinematic sound field sans the complex speaker setup process.

The TVs also support an optional BRAVIA CAM (included with the A95), which detects the viewer’s position to optimise the picture and sound according to the room environment and viewing distance.

Gamers will also enjoy new quick-access features via Game Menu that improve the gaming experience, like Auto HDR Tone Mapping, Auto Genre Picture Mode for visual quality, Variable Refresh Rate and Motion Blur Reduction for smoothness, while Black Equalizer improves visibility. You can even go into a windowed mode with Screen Size and add crosshair overlays to help with your aim.

In addition, the A95L model has the Multi-View feature, which allows you to watch walk-throughs and gameplay guides while playing the game. All new 2023 models will feature a new Eco Dashboard, which presents energy-saving preferences in the context of environmental friendliness. The new TVs come with Sony’s streaming service, BRAVIA CORE, built-in; the enhanced content is designed to maximise the potential of the TVs.

The new BRAVIA XR TV lineup will be available in Singapore from April 2023.
