Horizon Forbidden West, the long-awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, has been confirmed for release for February 18, 2022, while pre-orders will start on September 2, 2021.
Director of Guerrilla games Mathijs de Jonge shared that the development team were “hugely impacted” by the pandemic, which led to them pushing back the release date, which would have been in late 2021. But the good news is that the finishing line is now in sight, metaphorically speaking.
While nobody’s in a rush to get into another Cyberpunk 2077-ish controversy, it also means that we have to cross off one major title for the upcoming holiday season. If you need a reminder of what to expect from the Horizon sequel, here’s some gameplay footage that was teased earlier in June.
On a separate note, PlayStation 5 owners will now be able to play Horizon Zero Dawn at 60fps with the new Enhanced Performance Patch.
