Asus teamed up with DJ Alan Walker for the new Zephyrus G14 variant, the ASUS Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker Special Edition.
The collaboration stemmed from Walker’s history as a self-taught producer, embodying the qualities of a modern ‘digital musician’. Walker got into computers, programming and graphic design at an early age and used his then unique skillset to forge a successful career as an electronic musician who mastered the modern platforms of YouTube, SoundCloud and Spotify. Fans of PUBG Mobile (On My Way and Live Fast featuring A$AP Rocky) and Death Stranding (Ghost featuring Au/Ra for Death Stranding: Timefall) might find the name familiar through the tracks he produced for those franchises.
Chosen in part for its portability, the Alan Walker edition of the G14 sports an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU. It’s distinguished by an array of personalised touches, such as the exclusive Spectre Blue AniMe Matrix LED array, matching PVD nameplate, Walker’s signature next to the ROG logo, and two fabric belts along the lid for a bit of flair.
That panache extends even to the acrylic top case, which Asus says Walker’s favourite part of their collaboration. The case, aka the ROG Remix sampler, connects to the G14 via a USB-C cable and can be used to trigger 18 sound effects selected by Walker, through conductive pads on the surface. ROG Remix also triggers custom animations on laptop display and AniMe Matrix panel based on the MIDI inputs selected.
Other frills include custom boot animation, wallpaper, patterned touchpad and keycaps with Walker’s signature colours and logos. Asus also includes swag in the form of an Alan Walker and ROG-styled baseball cap, socks and a special edition of the ROG Sleeve.
ROG Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker Special Edition (GA401QEC) retails for $3,098 and will be available exclusively at the ROG Experience Store Bugis and ASUS Online Store .
