Samsung goes the AI route to soup up its flagship gaming monitor.

The new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor (G95SC) is leveraging AI upscaling technology to raise the bar for OLED gaming.

The massive 49-inch monitor with its 1800R curvature is equivalent to two QHD screens side by side; it’s the first OLED display to offer Dual Quad High Definition (DQHD; 5,120 x 1,440) resolution, with an impressive ‘longboi’ 32:9 aspect ratio. It also packs a Multi View feature that lets you display two screens simultaneously, eliminating the need for multiple monitors.

The G9 display meets VESA-certified DisplayHDR True Black 400 standards for proper HDR visual quality and offers a legitimate gaming performance in the form of a rapid 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time and a 240Hz refresh rate. The panel also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

The highlight of the new Odyssey is, however, its “next-level” AI upscaling technology. The G9 uses the Neo Quantum Processor Pro to run a deep learning algorithm to analyse images, upscale content while tweaking the brightness and amplifying contrast, pixel by pixel.

With a slim profile and sleek metal frame, the G9 won’t look out of place on any table setup–but when the mood sets in, there’s always CoreSync and Core Lighting+ to bring forth a light show to match the on-screen colours. Though you probably would have your own audio setup, the G9 comes with built-in stereo speakers as well. That’s also because you can use the G9 as a smart TV. It comes with multiple port options: HDMI 2.1, Micro HDMI 2.1, Display Port 1.4, and an Auto Source Switch+ feature.

Pre-orders for the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) in Singapore have begun, with availability starting from June 26th. The price? A whopping SGD3,399. If that doesn’t phase you, then pre-order quickly to receive a complimentary Galaxy Tab S7 FE Wi-Fi 64GB worth SGD755.
